What is the salary of an entrepreneur?

As an entrepreneur, your salary will be whatever you decide to pay yourself; an entreprenuer, after all is one who starts his own business enterprise. It's your business, so pay yourself what you're worth!

Of course, unless you happen to start a money printing business, the funds available for your salary will depend mostly on the success of the business.

Most businesses fail within the first two to three years... that's a simple fact. Among those that succeed, most enable the owner to have a modest living, and the freedom of not having to work for someone else.

However, the beauty of working for yourself is that there is no real limit to the amount of money that can be made. Just look at Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft -- a bit over 20 years and he's worth hundreds of billions of dollars; or the Albertson's grocery chain, which was, until its recent purchase, the largest privately owned company in the United States.

The key to maximum earnings is duplication -- a single person can only work so hard, and (top-earning actors and performers excluded), this limits income. But duplicating one's efforts through licensing, Franchising, cooperative marketing programs, public stock offerings, etc, can make one's earnings astronomical.

Or, when a Microsoft, Google, or GM comes calling, you can just sell your great idea and spend the rest of your life on a private island in Barbados.

The only drawback to being an entrepreneur is that you have to start your business by yourself.
