SPANISH INFLUENCE ON THE PHILIPPINE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
Philippine education before the Spaniards came was informal and unstructured. Parents were the children's first teachers. For schools, the children went to the houses of tribal tutors where they were taught vocational subjects or what we would consider today as electives.
During the Spanish period, tribal tutors were replaced by Spanish missionaries and education became religion-oriented. Education became exclusively for the elite in the early years under the Spanish rule. Later, education became accessible to Filipinos with the enactment of the Educational Decree of 1863. This decree provided for the establishment of at least one primary school in each town. It also provided for the establishment of a normal school for male teachers. Normal schools (teacher-training schools) were supervised by the Jesuits. Primary education was free. Spanish, as a subject, was compulsory.
The Philippines were a colony of Spain until 1898, until losing the Spanish-American War of 1898 to the United States. The Philippines are named after King Philip of Spain.
Considering the Philippines are deeply rooted Spanish influence. As a example, language, religion, measurement, and government are a few to include as sectors effected in the educational system.
The educational system introduced by the Spaniards in the Philippines was aimed at spreading Christianity and consolidating their colonial rule rather than facilitating holistic development or empowerment for Filipinos. It prioritized teaching religion and Spanish language while suppressing local languages and culture. Though it laid the foundation for formal education in the country, it also reinforced social hierarchies and limited opportunities for Filipinos to advance in society.
During the Commonwealth era in the Philippines (1935-1946), the educational system was reformed and modernized. The government focused on expanding public education and promoting English as the medium of instruction. The establishment of the National Language Institute and emphasis on vocational and technical education were also key features of the educational system during this period.
How can be an educational system of the Philippines be improved to provide competitive Filipino graduates!
I'm assuming you were asking " How was the Philippines civilized?". The Philippines used to be a colony of Spain from 1521-1898. Spaniards colonized the country, and introduced catholicism to its people. The Spaniards had a tremendous influence in the country's identity. Some of Spain's influence is evident in its religion, filipino's last names, building structures, cuisine etc. Besides the Spaniards, the Philippines was also highly influenced by China, and the United States. All of these influences helped shaped the country's identity.
An educational adviser is appointed politically/ or with political influence. As on today "the system is running on commercial basis" planning.
how to build 35 in two different ways
Reform the educational system and increase funding. The illiteracy in the Philippines is only a part of the bigger problem which is bad quality of education.
PHILIPPINES the name itself is one of the great contributions of spaniards.. to glorify King Philip II.. CATHOLICISM was introduced by the spaniards.. and some tagalog words like abante, avante in spanish w/c means ahead or forward in english.. be thankful to the spaniards even though we had some bad experience w/ them.. =)

The Philippine educational system came to a complete standstill upon the evasion of the Japanese army. During the occupation educational institutions remained closed.
During the Japanese occupation in the Philippines (1942-1945), the educational system was heavily influenced and controlled by the Japanese military government. They tried to instill Japanese culture, language, and values into the curriculum. Schools were used as a tool for propaganda and to promote loyalty to the Japanese Empire. Many Filipino teachers and students faced hardships and restrictions during this period.
