Esther is a Jewish female name. She is indeed honored by a book in the Old Testament. There are very few Jewish people in Spain and Spanish-Speaking countries- this dates to the period of Fernando and Isabella. Let's get the King's name right, it's Fernando. There were big anti-semitic riots in Seville in l492. Might explain why the Spanish monarchs supported the commander of Task Force l492- nothing like exploration to draw attention away from domestic problems- like the Space program... in re.. Vietnam War. well, it is not a Spanish game, Good Luck, you"ll need it!

I suspect the questioner wanted to know the Spanish version of 'Esther'

It is 'Ester', pronounced EssTAIR....Name of a beautiful teacher-colleague I worked with there in the 1980s.
