By valuing education and learning yourself! The more important education is to the parents and family, the more the child values education.
Here are some specific techniques that work:
good study habits is simply studying good.
To encourage a 6-year-old to develop good study habits, create a consistent study routine, provide a designated study space, offer positive reinforcement, and make learning fun through games and activities. Encourage independence and responsibility by allowing the child to take ownership of their learning process. Additionally, establish clear expectations and set achievable goals to help them stay motivated and focused.
All study habits affect performance! Here's a good link.
Studying efficiently and being focused with no distractions are good study habits which minimize studying time by a lot, and increase comprehension. You learn a LOT more that way. Students with poor study habits don't know how to learn effectively.

If I could change anything as a sixth grader I would study more and make better grades. I would develop good study habits that I could use in later grades, and I would not be so concerned about being popular. I would develop my own talents (everyone has them) and just be myself.
Because it can possibly bridge the gap or the less mastered learning competencies especially in Science. This could also help the pupils to develop positive and good study habits.
The behavior of children is effected by positive or negative reinforcement. Punishments are negative reinforcement, rewards are positive reinforcement. Grades are a result of behavior. The best behavior modifiers are encouraged by giving positive reinforement for doing well and only negative if doing exceedingly bad. I would suggest reinforcing the behavior of doing all their homework, studying for tests, and having good study habits. It is more work as a parent to do these things, but raising a child that has good study habits is much more benefit in the long run than simply having good grades. The professional world might hire you for good grades but only promotes the individuals that have good work habits. And good study habits will result in the best possible grades for your child as a side effect.
Yes, without good study habits, you will fall behind, you will perform poorly on tests ans assessments, and you will not complete work on time. All of this will affect your grade negatively.
