Boston University is an accredited university with a good reputation. Whether it is "prestigious" is a matter of opinion. Most would probably not think it has as great prestige as its near neighbors, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It does receive high ratings in some published assessments

In 2009 the Times Higher Education Supplement gave Boston University 20th rank in US and fifty sixth in the world.

If being "an impressive school to get accepted to" means that people saw, "Oh, Wow!" merely on hearing that you have been accepted, the way they might with Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc., then no, BU is not an impressive school to get accepted to. It is, however, a quality school with a national reputation in many areas.

If by "genuine" you mean "is it real?" "does it actually exist?" Yes, Boston University actually exists, and has for more than a century.
