It is highly difficult to come up with a strightarrow answer for this question. I will dwell about certain parameters and leave it to you to decide based on the situation you are in.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure in Vasavi(hereafter referred to as VCE) and JNTU Karimnagar (hereafter referred to as JNTUHCEJ) is more or less comparable. But very recently (read: April 2014), crores of rupees have been allotted to JNTUHCEJ by JNTU Hyderabad for construction of a new hill-top Library, Mini Cricket Stadium and to state of the art laboratory equipment in Mechanical and ECE Labs. While construction of Library and Stadium is bound to take time, quatations from various firms across India have been invited to Purchase new Laboratory equipment. internet connectivity is better in VCE. Here again, an application has been sent by JNTUHCEJ to UGC to obtain a dedicated 1Gbps connection.

Faculty: VCE has better faculty to student ratio. In terms of quality JNTUHCEJ scores high with profile of almost all professors boasting of education and Ph.Ds from top notch universities. The number of publications (both books and articles in journals) is fairly high by faculty of JNTUHCEJ in terms of number of publication per faculty. JNTU-H has released notifications to recruit new, permanent faculty, a large chunk of which may be allotted to JNTUHCEJ, so that way, JNTUHCEJ is catching up on Faculty-Student ratio as well.

Research: The projects undertaken by various universities are generally not made public until they have made considerable progress, I prefer not to comment on this.

Location: This is one of the easiest part to answer I can say. VCE definitely scores higher than JNTUHCEJ in terms of strategic location. Being in the heart of the city enables students to go for coaching (GRE, GATE, GMAT, CAT etc.). This will also have a considerable effect on Placements as well.

Campus Life: VCE is a lot better here too. JNTUHCEJ scores too low in terms of Canteen facilities and being a vast campus with a fairly low in take compared to small campus and higher intake of VCE, campus looks less lively. But hostels in JNTUHCEJ have all amenities like TV Room, Gym, Mess etc., (Internet connectivity hasn't yet been extended to Hostels, but students do use BSNL-3G, Airtel, BSNL 2G services). Grounds in JNTUHCEJ are bigger and better. There is a greater scope for expansion/development in JNTUHCEJ owing to availability of vast stretches of land.

Alumni: Being esablished in 1981, VCE has seen greater batches being passed out and naturally has a wider alumni network when compared to JNTUHCEJ (estd 2007).

Brand Quotient: JNTUHCEJ, being a constituent college enjoys the privilege of having a good Brand Quotient. VCE may be popular in Hyderabad, or say in AP and TG, but JNTU's brand extends further.

Placements: Well, this could be the one thing your eyes were searching for in this answer. VCE has a fairly better Placement record both in terms of number of offers made and packages being offered. JNTUHCEJ has seen near 60% being placed 2010-2014 batch compared to 40% for previous batch. While it might take time to attract bigger and better companies an packages, Brand Quotient and first-degree contacts of Placement Officer in JNTUHCEJ with JNTU-H's officials can pay good dividends in the coming years.

Fee Structure: Fee in JNTUHCEJ comes to be around 15000 per annum while in VCE it goes beyond 1.1 lakh per annum. Return on Investment in JNTUHCEJ is too good. 15,000 p.a is a pittance. It costs way more for a Class I kid these days. So what JNTUHCEJ has to offer may be less when seen in absolute terms, but when Cost of Program comes into picture, balance reverses.

Future Prospects: The growth in VCE has somewhat stagnated owing to limited area. JNTUHCEJ has a very bright future and is seeing a rapid growth. The cut-offs are also coming down indicating increase in quality of students.
