What is the difference between soy and estoy in spanish?
Soy and estoy both mean I am in English, but they are used in
different situations. Estoy is used to describe emotions, and other
states of being that are not permanent: Estoy enojado (I am angry)
Estoy de luto (I am in mourning) Soy is used to indicate permanent
things, like where you are from, what your profession is, etc. Soy
bombero (I am a firefighter) Soy norteamericano (I am North
American) Soy su hermano (I am his/her brother)
