"Marhaba" is not (marhaban) and not on earth is a word of Semitic origin.

"Marhaba" or "Merhaba" or "maraba" or "meraba" is a greeting word of Persian origin, roughly meaning "No harm can come from me to you" The distribution of "m[a]-[e]rhaba" and its variants as a greeting. It's in Turkiye (Turkish republic) and the ex-Ottoman empire, but also in Pakistan where they say "mehrabani". These are on either side of (Iran) Persia and fall within the "Persian sphere of cultural influence" for thousands of years. Also the fact that there are 2 distinct variations which are slightly different in pronunciation both from each other and the original point to a dissemination from a single source and then evolution over time.
