At my school, we are required to take 4 years of a foreign language and 1 year of studying the culture of that language, as opposed to the two years required at other schools in my area. This emphasis on foreign language is fun and looks great in a resume. Finally, the IB diploma can give a student Advanced Credit for many colleges and universities.
