To fill the slave cylinder in a 2003 Saturn Ion, you need to access the clutch master cylinder reservoir, which is typically located near the driver's side of the engine bay. This reservoir is connected to the hydraulic system that operates the slave cylinder. Make sure to use the appropriate brake fluid recommended in the owner's manual, usually DOT 3 or DOT 4. After filling, check for any leaks and ensure the fluid level is within the proper range.
All clutch slave cylinder require brake fluid. You will need to check and see if it is Dot3 or Dot4. Do NOT mix the two.
Slave Cylinder driver side, bolted to firewall
Fill your slave cylinder using a hypodermic syringe (won't take much) and install it. Before you tighten the connection to the slave cylinder, bleed the air out of the line by filling the reservoir and pumping the air out until it runs clear. After it runs clear, tighten the connection to the slave cylinder.
The clutch operates off the brake fluid reservoir...Fill the brake fluid
You can fill a cylinder with gas.
To bleed or replace the slave cylinder on a 1989 Ford F-150 4x4, first, ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. If replacing, disconnect the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder and remove the mounting bolts to take it out. To bleed the new or existing slave cylinder, fill the clutch master cylinder with fluid, then have someone press the clutch pedal while you open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder, allowing air and old fluid to escape. Close the valve before the pedal is released, and repeat until no air bubbles appear.
fill the coolant reserve and the light should go out
hi, you may find that it dose not have a clutch cylinder, as this model usually has a cable. confirm this by following thru from top of clutch pedal. regards razzel
You fill the cooling system through resevour, it should have a cap that screws on and says DO NOT OPEN WHEN HOT.
First open bleeder screw on slave cylinder and drain fliud.Your slave cylinder is bolted on to your transmission with 2 bolts, take bolts out and remove fluid line from slave cylinder.Screw fluid line to new slave cylinder and set end of slave cylinder into fork position ,then screw 2 bolts in and fill clutch master cylinder with dot 3 brake fluid and pump clutch pedal a few times and hold to floor and open bleeder screw to let air out ,do this until all air is gone, dont let clutch master cylinder fluid get low while doing this, you might want to get a clear hose and attach to bleeder screw and other end in glass jar with brake fluid so you can see air coming out.
usually you have a bad slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. check the fluid in the clutch reservoir. on drivers side next to brke master cylinder it is a small container with a black 2.5 inc cap if empty fill to fill line and pump clutch pedal until you get some resistance
First get the the replacement slave and have it on hand. Have someone in the truck to push the pedal while you bleed the slave cylinder. Use a line wrench to disconnect the line to it. Probably a 10mm. Then taking off mounting nuts and old slave cylinder. To put the new one on just reverse the steps, mount the new one, hook the hydraulic line back up, fill the master clutch cylinder resivoir with brake fluid and bleed it again. Do it until the fluid comes out yelowish. Top on resivoir, and that is it.
