Many different wiring systems for this component depending on control system.
Be care full using a test light may burn out regulator or vehicle computer, use only high impedance (digital display) volt meter.
The terminals should be labeled Bat (battery) hot at all times. Ground if it has a separate ground lead (should never be hot), Then IGN for the hot when switch is on or FLD for field supply from the regulator. On some units there is a second small bat lead to allow an internal regulator to sense the battery voltage.
im assuming your looking for hot wires on the coil. They should be two wires of the coil
Ignition switch, coils, starter, alternator, spark plugs. plug wires, battery.
wires are worn and need replacing
how do you take the wires from the alternator on a 1997 Toyota Tercel
Number of Wires to an AlternatorThat depends on:the alternator, the wiring system in the vehicle
To disconnect the wires from the alternator on a 1999 Volvo V70XC, first ensure the ignition is off and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts. Then, locate the alternator and remove the plastic cover if present. Carefully detach the wiring harness connector by pressing the release tab and pulling it off. Finally, use a wrench to remove the large nut securing the main battery cable to the alternator, allowing you to fully disconnect the wires.
disconnect the battery. Remove the alternator belt then disconnect the wires. Unbolt the alternator and remove. Bolt the new alternator in then connect the wires, belt, and battery.
from the back of the alternator to the dash to the battery
If car cranks over and won't start it is not the starter, alternator or battery. Most likely the ignition wires or module, fuel delivery system or air intake meter.
yes any car can be hot wired as long as they know the color of the wires for the ignition they can be red black yellow and i think blue
There should be one female plug-in and one separate hot wire that is hot anytime the battery is hooked up.
Stick a sewing needle through the wires going into the ignition until you get the dash to light up.
