I'm not sure what you mean by transformer. A transformer is used to change one voltage to another, and the only transformer in a simple ignition system I can think of would be the coil. Since most cars run on 12 volts delivered from a battery, and that is not nearly enough to ignite a spark in a car's cylinder, the coil raises that voltage to around 50,000.
I've described the transformer in a very basic ignition system. Today's cars use very sophisticated ignition systems using variations of what I just described in order to increase power and give better mileage. By using electronics to shorten the duration of the spark a set of sparkplugs can last 100,000 miles or more and modern cars no longer use "points" that can also wear out. Still, something has to increase that 12 volts to get a good spark.
A computer should not have an ignition system.
You need electronic equipment and know how to to diagnoise the ignition system of the new cars.
The ignition coil is the transformer that puts out the voltage required to make a spark jump the points of a spark plug. this in turn lights the petrol which pushed down the piston.
Constant voltage delivery Eliminate the need for periodic replacement of points and condensor
Most probably, you won't get it to run. Gasoline need a spark to ignite, R/c cars usually rely on another ignition system.
Need to know if it has a 2.2 L or the 3.4 L engine.
why need dielectric test for transformer
As far as i know, it is Not possible to use a ebi for energizing a usual tesla coil.
Common bad transformer symptoms in HVAC systems include frequent system cycling, blown fuses, inconsistent heating or cooling, and a humming or buzzing noise coming from the transformer. These issues can indicate a malfunctioning transformer that may need to be replaced.
you need to re-do the timing of the ignition system. the other possibility is the ignition is worn out and needs to be replaced.
You need to specify which parts of the ignition system you intend to remove. You can remove ignition from your vehicle entirely by removing the ignition coil wire from the distributor but I don't think that's the answer your looking for.
Yes. On modern cars you need a battery at the minimum to start the ignition system. Even in a used car situation no one, dealer or private should be telling you the battery is extra, unless your dealing with a junkyard car.
