If you own a 2005 Hyundai Tucson, you should be aware that several owners of this model have experienced random defects with the electronic door lock system. Sometimes it opens unexpectedly and other times it will not open at all. The electronic door lock system can "stick" in a position that drains the battery, in some cases in as little as a day, or during an overnight parking period, particularly in cold weather. As you will see from other 2005 Hyundai Tucson owners who have posted complaints about this problem, Hyundai Dealerships refuse to acknowledge there is problem with this electronic door lock system, and they have not issued a recall notice. But the problem is far worse than simply causing your battery to discharge - - in fact, it is life-threatening.

After having the door locks open on their own while driving with children in the back seat, I contacted the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to search for reports on the problem; there were none. You should BEWARE that the 2005 Hyundai Tucson's door locks may randomly open while driving, which is particularly dangerous when children are aboard. It can also be dangerous when you are driving through cities like Chicago (the murder capital), where criminals already know that some Hyundai models have faulty door locks.

My recommendation to those of you who have this problem is to contact the NHTSA with a simple letter as follows:

My Hyundai Tucson's electronic door lock system is defective and presents an extreme safety hazard. While driving, the door locks malfunction; while parked, the door locks "stick" and drain the battery; while trying to open the doors with the electronic keyfob, the door locks do not respond. Hyundai Dealers will not admit there is a recurring problem with many owners of this model, so I am requesting NHTSA to investigate the matter and demand that Hyundai issue a recall notice to immediately repair this potentially life-threatening defect. My Hyundai Tucson is a _____ (year).

In addition to sending the above letter to NHTSA, I recommend sending cc's to Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, for they are the only two news sources that report the true news without putting spin on the actual problem - - these news organizations tell the truth while others distort, deceive and disregard just about everything that matters. After all, it's ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and New York Times that told us ObamaCare would be so great, so why would you ever trust those simpletons with something that could help inform our fellow drivers of a car problem? Let's get NHTSA to correct this for us today!

How do you repair power door locks on 2002 Hyundai elantra?

There is not a specifically designated fuse for the power locks on the underdash fusebox label. The power locks are actually on the sunroof fuse (#15), whether or not the car has a sunroof. Check that fuse and replace if necessary.
