This Tesla CD Turbine is based on the Tesla turbine, which was invented by Nikola Tesla in the early 1900's. Tesla's pumps and motors were unique in that they only used discs, and took advantage of the boundary layer effect. His smallest designs were over 100 horsepower. It is referred to as a bladeless turbine because it uses the boundary layer effect and not a fluid impinging upon the blades as in a conventional turbine. The Tesla turbine is also known as the boundary layer turbine, cohesion-type turbine, and Prandtl layer turbine (after Ludwig Prandtl). One of Tesla's desire for implementation of this turbine was for geothermal power, which was described in "Our Future Motive Power".
Tesla wrote 'This turbine is an efficient self-starting prime mover which may be operated as a steam or mixed fluid turbine at will, without changes in construction and is on this account very convenient. Minor departures from the turbine, as may be dictated by the circumstances in each case, will obviously suggest themselves but if it is carried out on these general lines it will be found highly profitable to the owners of the steam plant while permitting the use of their old installation. However, the best economic results in the development of power from steam by the Tesla turbine will be obtained in plants especially adapted for the purpose.
The Tesla turbine was invented by Nikola Tesla in 1913. It was designed as a bladeless turbine that utilized the principle of boundary layer effect to achieve efficient fluid movement. Although it was patented in 1913, the turbine did not gain widespread commercial success during Tesla's lifetime.

Tesla invented the electric generators as the patent shows the date to be 1888. He was from Croatia. The scientist tesla is from this country he invented electrical generators?
Before the War of the Currents, Nikola Tesla worked for Thomas Edison at the Edison Machine Works in the 1880s. Initially, Tesla admired Edison and sought to improve Edison's direct current (DC) electrical systems. However, tensions arose due to disagreements over electrical engineering principles and Edison's refusal to support Tesla's ideas for alternating current (AC) technology, leading to Tesla's departure and the eventual rivalry that defined the War of the Currents.
Nikola Tesla worked for George Westinghouse from 1888 to around 1895. Tesla was hired to develop an alternating current (AC) power system, which Westinghouse sought to promote as a viable alternative to Thomas Edison's direct current (DC) system. Their collaboration was crucial in advancing electrical engineering and establishing AC as the standard for electrical power distribution.

On his 50th birthday in 1906, Tesla demonstrated his 200 hp (150 kW) 16,000 rpm bladeless turbine. During 1910 1911 at the Waterside Power Station in New York, several of his bladeless turbine engines were tested at 100 5000 hp. It was patented by Nikola Tesla in 1913.
A whole branch of medicine was founded on the healing effects of certain Tesla coil frequencies. Tesla understood the therapeutic value of high-frequency vibrations. He never patented in the area but did announce his findings to the medical community, and a number of devices were patented and marketed by others.
