The 1N5408 is rated 3 amperes forward current and 1000 volt reverse voltage, with a 200 ampere peak surge current rating. The BY255 is rated 3 amperes forward current and 1300 volt reverse voltage, with a 100 amperes peak surge current rating.

The two diodes are comparable, but the 1N5408 has a higher transient rating.

Since it does not seem that you are talking about a power supply application, you can probably substitute the BY255 for a 1N5408. It depends on the circuit design, but most circuits (if properly designed) are over-rated so, again, it would probably work.

I would not use the BY255 in the power supply, however, due to the short term transient that comes from turning on the power. Again, circuit design prevails, and it might work even there, because inrush current will be limited by the inductance of the transformer and the dynamic resistance of the diode.

What kind of diode used in an amplifier?

Lots of kinds of diodes are used in amplifiers. In the power supply section, diodes may be used in groups of two or four, as rectifiers to convert AC (from the mains supply, via a transformer) into DC for the amplifier. These diodes are usually rated at several hundred volts, and several amps. They are classified as rectifier diodes. A typical example is 1N5404. In the amplifier circuitry, diodes may be used to provide a known (approximately) voltage drop where required by the design of the circuit. They can also be used for temperature feedback, although for direct temperature compensation a transistor is more common. These diodes are generally small-signal types like 1N4148. In logic switching, diodes are often used for simple OR-type functions. Look on Wikipedia for "diode OR". These are small-signal types. If the amplifier has a switching power supply, or is a Class D amplifier, high speed switching diodes are used extensively. They are used for rectification (though they must be high-speed devices because of the high switching frequency), suppression and clamping in the Class D output stage (ditto), and miscellaneous functions in the control circuitry. These are high-speed, high-current diodes.

Does the power amplifier amplifies the power?

the final stage of a power amp is a current amplifier in a bipolar design and a voltage amp in a FET design.

Why FET is an excellent buffer amplifier?

FET is an excellent buffer amplifier because it has an high input impedance by which when we are connecting two networks for transferring out put of one stage to another stage all the power is drown on the second network not on first network.if first stage network has an low input impedance then first circuit drown all power from second circuit.

Working of RC coupled amplifier?

In a two stage RC coupled amplifier, the two transistors are identical and a common power supply is used. The input is provided to the first stage of the amplifier where it is amplified and this output is used as input for the second stage. This is amplied once again by the other transistor in the second stage and the final output is obtained. There will be a 180 degree phase shift after the first stage amplification which is nullified by the 180 degree phase shift of the second stage amplification. Thus, we obtain an output which is an amplified signal of the input and is in phase with the input signal.

Can you swap IN5408 in a power stage of a tube amp with UF5408 diode?

Yes you can. The UF is a significantly faster diode. The peak forward surge current is 50 amps less, but apart from that they have much the same characteristics.

How do you convert 200uV to 9V without using transformer?

If the 200μV is AC, you can use a charge-pump ladder. This consists of a network of capacitors and diodes that incrementally increase voltage with each stage. For DC, you would need to use an oscillator, either together with a charge-pump ladder or as part of a switch-mode power supply.

Do LED stage lighting setups use much power?

LED stage lighting setups use more power than fluorescent light setups because LED stage lighting shines much brighter thus the need for more power than any other lighting.
