Use only one of the legs (L1-L3), and the neutral. Some three phase circuits don't have a neutral. If that is the case, then you cannot run single phase.
CommentYou don't need a neutral, providing the voltage is appropriate, you can get a single-phase supply by connecting the load between any two lines.
With a synchronous motor shorting the slip-rings together should make it work as an induction motor although perhaps not to an optimal degree.
We can convert a 3 phase ac motor into generator by changing phase sequence of the ac input cable of that motor
The parts of a motor includes the valves, piston rings, piston and the cylinder just but to mention a few. It uses the power of the magnetic fields to convert electricity into motion.
take two dc motors..................... connect the spindle of 1 motor to a hollow pipe so that the pipe should also rotate when the motor is given dc current (one can take an empty pen refill for that).... now fix the spindle of another motor to the other end of the hollow pipe...... the two terminals of the 2nd motor is now the terminals of the dynamo which will generate dc current........
give answer how to control the speed of dc motor using bridge rectifier ? ANSWER: A bridge rectifier by itself does not control anything it merely convert AC into DC. the controlling is done by other means SCR TRIACS AND SERVO loop
A motor convert electrical energy to mechanical energy.
You cannot convert a turbo diesel driven car to a petrol motor. You have to buy a car that uses the petrol motor.
short the rotor terminals.
Into units of what?
No, an electric motor does not convert chemical energy to mechanical energy. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical energy by using electromagnetic fields to create motion.

are you tring to convert a car from coil packs to a distributored motor
We can convert a 3 phase ac motor into generator by changing phase sequence of the ac input cable of that motor
The easiest way would be to convert the AC power to DC by using a rectifier diode and a filter capacitor. In that way you can now run your DC motor on DC.
Most often through induced magnetism such as an electric motor.
a motor is a generator and a generator is a motor, if you are applying a voltage to turn the rotor its a motor and if you are turning the rotor and taking the voltage off the terminals its a generator or alternator.
