we can measure the resistance of the motor by using voltmeter ammeter method of by directly using a multimeter across the armature terminals of the motor

in voltmeter ammeter method we should use a less value of dc voltage to find the resistance

What units do you measure resistance in?

Your measure resistance in OHMS ΩOhms.

Why does a motor boat slow to a stop when the motor dies?

Resistance. Water has a lot of resistance.

How do you calculate resistance box for slip ring motor?

To calculate the resistance for a slip ring motor, there is an equation that must be solved. This is Torque = S/R. S is the slip of the motor and R is the resistance of the motor.

Why does my treadmill stop when I step on it?

Your treadmill may stop when you step on it because the motor is not powerful enough to handle the increased weight and resistance. This can cause the motor to overload and shut off as a safety measure.

How can you check the motor's windings whether short circuit?

To check a motor's windings for a short circuit, you can use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the winding terminals. A reading close to zero ohms indicates a short circuit, while an infinite or very high resistance suggests the windings are intact. Additionally, you can check for shorts between the windings and the motor frame by measuring resistance from the winding terminals to the frame; any low resistance reading indicates a short to ground. Always ensure the motor is powered off and disconnected before performing these tests for safety.

The will measure resistance only?

The ohmmeter is usually used to measure the resistance of a given wire only.

How do you measure the resistance in a parallel circuit?

You have to measure the voltage, and the current. The resistance is then calculated by using Ohm's Law.

Why meter bridge can't be used to measure low resistance and high resistance?

used to measure low Resistance since it must reach a null.

What is resistance of stator winding of induction motor?

Resistance of stator winding is the resistance of the copper conductors being used for building the windings of three separate phases, i.e. R-Y-B. These windings are marked like U1-U2, V1-V2 & W1-W2 at the motor terminals (6 nos.) for the three phases, i.e. R-Y-B respectively. We have simply to measure the resistance of each winding by using a multimeter by connecting the terminals (2 no.) to U1 & U2 and so on. The resistance should be in ohms not milliamps [amps is form of measuring current not resistance] milliamps to microamps in case of large motors, it may be in amps in case of small sized motors. But resistance of each winding should be nearly same to each other. This shows the electrical balance among windings & also proves the healthiness of the winding.

What is the ohm unit used to measure?

Ohms measure electrical resistance. The resistance in ohms is the voltage divided by the current.

Why does a motor have a bigger resistance than a bulb?

There is no particular reason why a motor should have a bigger resistance than a bulb. A motor's resistance must depend on what current it draws at the particular voltage it was designed to run on. Equally, a bulb's resistance must depend on what current it draws at the particular voltage it was designed to run on. A particular motor may have a higher resistance than one kind of bulb but that same motor may have a lower resistance than another kind of bulb.
