You really can't.

If you apply single-phase power to the motor, and start it spinning by hand, it will run, but you won't get near the rated horsepower out of it, and it won't start by itself.

IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB

SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY

REFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS. If you do this work yourself, always turn off the power at the breaker box/fuse panel BEFORE you attempt to do any work AND always use a meter or voltage indicator

to insure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.

How to build a Rotary phase converter?

A simple Rotary phase converter is just a motor generator set. An electric motor running on the input voltage/current/phase/frequency. it drives a generator that supplies a different voltage/current/phase/frequency. So an electric motor and an electric generator connected together mechanically, either on the same shaft, or via gears, constitutes a Rotary phase converter. the above is incorrect, the motor/generator is the same motor, just one 3 phase motor is needed, it will run on T1 and T2, and put out L1, L2, and L3. You just need to know how to wire it up and what to do to get it to spin over on simple single phase 220, it will create three phase 220.

How do you determine a 3 phase motor and each winding?

To see if the motor is three phase or single phase look at the motor's nameplate. There it will tell you what the voltage needs to be and what system phase the motor needs to be connected to operate properly.

When is A 3-phase synchronous motor said to be floating when it operates?

on no load and without losses

What will happen if two phase supply given to the single phase motor?

Two phase is single phase for today's purposes. We generally do not call 240v single phase "two phase" anymore, although technically that's what it is. 240v two phase has power to both lines to the motor versus 120v single phase has one power line and a neutral. Fortunately most single phase motors today are dual voltage. So check your nameplate data of the motor for guidance. The use of proper motor protection will prevent any damage to motors if wrong voltages are inadvertantly applied.CommentA two-phase system is an archic system, in which two phase voltages are displaced from each other by 90 electrical degrees. Like three-phase, it had the advantage of producing a naturally-rotating magnetic field, so could drive induction motors without any need for a starting capacitor.

How do you check single phase motor winding?

Single phase motor winding is often checked just by listening to the noise that the motor is making. An experienced person can tell if the motor is working at single phase or double phase.

Can you run a three phase motor with single phase generator with help of phase converter?

Terminology gets misapplied but a 3-phase converter produces a 3 phase supply from a single phase supply. The only proviso is that generator, converter and motor are all suitably rated and compatible.

How do you get an equivalent three phases power from a single phase?

You cannot obtain a three-phase supply from a single-phase system without using some sort of rotary converter.

What type of converter is required to act a sedc motor as a generator?

single phase fully control converter

What is static converter can a power supply of computer is static converter?

A single phase supply can operate a three phase motor with a static converter. No a power supply of computer cannot be fed through the static converter.

What is the simplest way to run a 3 phase 380 V motor of about 1 KW directly on 220 V single phase supply without resorting to rewinding or frequency converters?

The simplest way to run a 3-phase 380 V motor on a 220 V single-phase supply is to use a phase converter, specifically a rotary phase converter or a static phase converter. These devices can generate the required third phase to power the motor properly. Make sure to consult an electrician or engineer to ensure compatibility and safety.

You have one hp three phase motor where as available power supply is only single phase how can you run this motor?

You will need to install a phase converter or change the motor to single phase. You can find a licensed electrician at www.contraxtor.com

How do you connect a 460V 3 phase motor 60Hz with 380V 50Hz 3 phase supply?

You can use a voltage converter to step down the 460V 3 phase motor to match the 380V 50Hz supply. Make sure the converter can handle the motor's current requirements. It's also advisable to consult with an electrician to ensure safe and proper installation.

How do you use a one phase motor in place of a three phase motor?

To use a single-phase motor in place of a three-phase motor, you would typically need a phase converter to convert the single-phase power supply into three-phase power. Alternatively, you can replace the entire motor with a single-phase motor that has similar specifications as the three-phase motor. It's important to consult with an electrician or engineer to ensure compatibility and safety.

What size motor do you need to run a compressor 2 stage 80 gallon tank i have a 3 phase on it and want to change motor?

You probably need a 5hp or 7hp motor. Look for HP rating o the 3 phase motor and select the same for single phase. 3 phase has same power but is more efficient at electricity use. Also consider a 3 phase converter. It allows a 3 phase motor to run on single phase service.

What is static Phase Converter?

A phase converter converts single-phase, alternating current power to three-phase power. There are two general types, static converters and rotary phase converters. A basic form of rotary phase converter is a single-phase electrical motor with its shaft coupled to a three-phase alternator. A static phase converter converts single-phase power to three-phase power by using electronic switching. They typically convert the single-phase, alternating current to direct current and then electronically synthesize three phase power output for use with three-phase equipment.
