Microphone gives ac output.

Microphone converts sound energy to electrical energy. Due to vibration of Carbon diaphragm the resistance varies so that the amplitude of current varies.

That is not entirely true. A microphone element produces a very small DC sine wave output, all of it above the zero line. It can be made to have an AC ouput if a circuit is added to do so, as an amplifier which provides the negative component. Thus, half (or sometimes less than half) of the sine wave will be below the zero line. Otherwise, circuitry may be integral to the mic.

What equation is used to calculate the dc output voltage for a given ac input voltage to a step-down transformer?

so far i knew, the transformers are used to seprate dc component from ac component of supply fed into primary winding of coil. still if dc output value of ac input has to be calculated then it is v2*2/sqrt(pi) where v2 is peak ac output voltage and is equal to v1*n2/n1 pi is a constant numerically equal to 3.14 thus the dc value is average value of output ac voltage -------------------sachin_the_rex@aol.in------------------------------

Converters is a device used to transforming. AC to AC Dc to DC DC to AC AC to DC?

Converters are electronic devices used to transform electrical power from one form to another. They are commonly used to convert AC (alternating current) to AC, DC (direct current) to DC, DC to AC, and AC to DC. Here's a breakdown of each type of converter: AC to AC Converter: AC to AC converters, also known as AC power controllers or AC voltage controllers, are used to control and modify the amplitude, frequency, or phase angle of an AC voltage waveform. They are often employed in applications such as motor speed control, lighting dimmers, and power regulation. DC to DC Converter: DC to DC converters, also called DC-DC converters or voltage regulators, are used to convert one DC voltage level to another. They operate by converting the input DC voltage to a high-frequency AC waveform, which is then rectified and filtered back to a DC voltage at the desired output level. DC to DC converters are commonly used in power supplies for electronic devices, battery charging systems, and renewable energy systems. DC to AC Converter: DC to AC converters, also known as inverters, are devices that convert a DC power source (such as a battery or solar panel) into AC power. They generate a high-frequency AC waveform by using switching techniques, and then the AC waveform is typically filtered and regulated to provide a stable AC output. DC to AC converters are widely used in applications such as solar power systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and electric vehicle inverters. AC to DC Converter: AC to DC converters, also referred to as rectifiers, are used to convert AC power into DC power. They typically employ diodes or other semiconductor devices to rectify the AC waveform, resulting in a pulsating DC waveform. Additional filtering and regulation stages are often employed to provide a smoother and more stable DC output. AC to DC converters are commonly found in power supplies for electronic devices, battery chargers, and many household appliances. The selection of the appropriate converter depends on the specific application and the desired conversion requirements. Converters play a crucial role in enabling the use and compatibility of different types of electrical devices and power sources. Where are high pass filters used?

High pass filters are used in circuits such as microphones to block out DC signals and pass the AC. In a microphone, DC power is used to power the microphone but should not appear on the output with the audio signal. Only the AC should appear on output which represents the voice signal, music, etc. To block out DC and pass AC, a high pass filter is used.
