frequency is genrally cycle per second, and frequencies may be of a dc nature or ac , devices which convert dc frequency in to an ac frequency are frequency converters and devieces which convert ac frequency in to dc frequency are frequency inverters.

because in terms of power electronics, devices which convert ac to dc are called converters, and devices which convert dc in to ac are called "inverters"

I'm a engineers in this devices, the frequency inverter is convert AC to AC but with variable frequency output, means the frequency & voltage are adjustable;

The frequency converter can convert DC to AC, like 24VDC to 220VAC and also the frequency is adjustable.

One most important thing is the out power of frequency inverter just can be used for controlling AC motor, while frequency converter can be treated as normal power supply as our daily using power grid.

What is the main difference between UPS and Inverter?

Inverter is the one which converts DC to AC. UPS is the one which provides you uninterrupted power supply. UPS as a system comprises of converter (converts AC to DC), battery, battery charger circuit and an inverter (converts DC to AC). Inverter is part of UPS.

How can you make a static inverter keeping the frequency at 400Hz accurate?

You can make your static inverter to maintain 400Hz by means of compare the generated frequency of your inverter with the reference buildin frequency generator which is called local oscillator or multivibrator which is fixed at 400 Hz. If your inverter generate frequency grater or less than 400Hz then the comparison between the reference frequency and the generate frequency will produce the error signal to reduce or increase the generated frequence and send it out. This is the principle operation of the Electrical Power Generation System. Post this answer by : tassana.e@thaiairways.com

What is the difference between rectifier and converter?

A rectifier converts AC voltage into DC voltage. A converter is something more general. It describes not only rectifiers, but also devices that can turn DC into AC or perform DC-to-DC or AC-to-AC conversion.

What is the Difference between series and parallel inverter?

One difference between a series and a parallel inverter is that series inverters are connected one after another. Whereas, parallel converters are only connected individually. Another difference between the two is that series inverters are used in small sub servers, whereas, parallel inverters are used in main servers.
