Wind resistance doesn't exist The correct term is Air resistance, which is the force that pushes against an object while travelling. For example, air resistance constantly pushes against a car whilst it is moving. This is because a car has to 'split' the air to travel through it.

Air resistance can be decreased by making the object (for example a car) more aerodynamic like an F-1 racer. Aerodynamic help to channel the air around the object and allowing it to push through the air easier.

I can't go in-depth as it can get quite complicated, but I hope this helps anyway.

A 'winding' is the term used in the electrotechnical industry for a coil of wire. Windings are used in Transformers and in rotating machines: i.e. generators and motors. 'Winding resistance' is exactly what it says: it's the resistance of a winding's conductor.

Is the resistance in the start winding greater or less than the resistance in the run winding?

The resistance in the start winding is greater because it is longer and thinner and has the greatest resistance to current flow

Why is the shunt field resistance greater than the series field resistance?

In case of series winding total line current is flow through it.line current is very very high.so,to minimize the drop the winding made as low turns and low gauge.hence the resistance is low.in case of shunt winding high resistance winding is used otherwise short circuit the parallel winding.for that winding is made as heavy turns and heavy gauge.

How do you measure wiring winding resistance?

Through an omhmeter.

What type of test equipment would you use to check the resistance between motor winding?

Ideally megger test is the best test used to check the resistance of motor winding.

Which winding has the higher resistance start or run in single phase motors?

start winding is thicker with less number of winding whereas run winding is less thicker than start winding but with more number of winding. As we know inductance depends upon numbers of turns of winding so run winding will have more inductance.

What is resistance of stator winding of induction motor?

Resistance of stator winding is the resistance of the copper conductors being used for building the windings of three separate phases, i.e. R-Y-B. These windings are marked like U1-U2, V1-V2 & W1-W2 at the motor terminals (6 nos.) for the three phases, i.e. R-Y-B respectively. We have simply to measure the resistance of each winding by using a multimeter by connecting the terminals (2 no.) to U1 & U2 and so on. The resistance should be in ohms not milliamps [amps is form of measuring current not resistance] milliamps to microamps in case of large motors, it may be in amps in case of small sized motors. But resistance of each winding should be nearly same to each other. This shows the electrical balance among windings & also proves the healthiness of the winding.

The insulation resistance of a transformer winding can be easily measured with?

It depends on the rated voltage of the transformer winding -are you talking about a 12-V transformer winding or a 400-kV transformer winding? Obviously, there is no one answer to your question!

Does a starting winding has more or less turns than a running winding?

Starting winding has more resistance and less induction than main winding, this means has smaller diameter and less turns.

How do you identify start and run windings of a motor?

The run winding of a single phase capacitor start motor has a lower resistance than the start winding.
