Improper handling can completely destroy (or severely damage, causing a delayed failure) many electronics components, without the person handling them becoming aware that anything had even happened at the time the part was destroyed (or severely damaged).
Answer
Computer are made with some very senstive components. From the screen to the keyboard these componets must be treated with care. Dust and water can do a lot of damage of damge to a computer. So, before you use your computer make sure your hands are clean, don't eat or drink around your electronics and be careful not to drop your computer. Gravitational acceleration and computers are not friends if you know what I mean.
Another reason to be careful is it can cost a lot to get your computer fixed. The parts are not always expensive but the cost of labor isn't cheap in most cases. In fact, quite ofen the cost of fixing a damaged computer can be more that the cost of a new computer. My recommendation is treat your computer with care and if the hard disk drive doesn't fail it should last atleast five years. However, this is not to say you won't want to upgrade before then. Also before you shell out hundreds of dollars for a repair of an older computer look at the cost of a computer that will fit your needs. Sometimes it's better just to get a new computer. Maybe not the same computer but similar product.

It depends on the current being drawn by the computer's components. The voltage will remain constant at 230V and should have a maximum amperage rating labeled on the power supply. Multiply the volts times the max amp rating to find out the max wattage that the power supply can handle. The watts actually being used is probably lower than the rated max (and should be).
