power factor=real power/apparent power...

real power in the sense the capacity of the circuit for performing a work in a particular time..for example the work done by a motor circuit is so and so...real power is what we consume from them...

apparent power if the product of the current thro' the circuit and the voltage...it will be always greater than the real power..

if the POWER FACTOR IS 1.0(100%),THEN THE AC POWER IN THE CIRCUIT WILL BE EQUIVALENT TO THE POWER OFFERED BY A DC CIRCUIT....

Why power factor expressed in cosine angle?

The vector-relationship between apparent power, true power, and reactive power is represented by a right-angled triangle, whose hypotenuse represents apparent power and whose adjacent represents true power. Since power factor is defined as 'the ratio of true power to apparent power', you will find that this ratio corresponds to the cosine of the angle between them.

Why inductor have low power factor?

An inductor has a low power factor because it is a reactive device, and the phase angle of the current with respect to voltage is not zero. In fact, power factor is the cosine of that phase angle, which means that a power factor of 1 means no phase angle, which means a resistive load. Anything else represents a reactive load and a power factor less than 1.In an ideal case, with perfect inductors and perfect conductors, the power factor would be zero, i.e. the phase angle would be 90 degrees lagging.

Is there origami that represents power?

The Dragon represents power.

Can a power factor be -23.4?

No, Power factor may not have a magnitude greater than 1. It represents the proportion of power used by the load as compare to the total power delivered to the load. If the load is able to store power, then some of the power delivered to the load will be stored and then returned back to the electricity supply (50 times a second, depending on your grid frequency).

What is the power of a factor?

power factor means kw/kva

How do you find power input with given power factor and power output?

Output Power divided by Power Factor.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of unity power factor?

There is no disadvantage of unity power factor, because at unity power factor all the electrical power is efficiently utilized by the the load, and at lagging power factor some power is lost in the load's magneticfield.

What mean power factor 0.26 lead?

When looking at power factor, it is the ratio of watts (true power) to VA. The power factor is how we measure power systems. A person with a low power factor like .26 will have a higher electricity bill.

When will i use 0.82 power factor?

There is no significance to a power factor of 0.82.

Why you use low power factor wattmeter on primary and unity power factor on secondary side of transformer?

There is no such thing as a 'low power-factor' wattmeter. A wattmeter always reads true power, regardless of the load's power factor.
