this is the voltage regulator IC which gives you +12 volts. after the capaciter it is being used in power supply. In 7812 , the 78 denotes (+ve) while 79 denotes (-ve) i.e.7912 provide you -12 volts. thelast two figure shows the output voltage.

What do you mean by strobe gate?

strobe is enable input in a digital IC...if its made active high...it will be enabled..some IC strobe is active low.. Its function is to enable the operation of the IC..or gate or Mux...

How do you test a good and bad Integrated circuit?

To test a good integrated circuit (IC), you can use a multimeter to check for proper voltage levels and continuity between pins, or employ an oscilloscope to verify signal integrity and waveform shapes. For a bad IC, you may observe incorrect voltage readings, lack of expected signals, or excessive heat during operation. Additionally, using specialized testing equipment, such as a logic analyzer, can help identify functional failures by analyzing the IC's output in real-time. If the IC fails these checks, it is likely defective.

What is the difference between microcontroller and ic?

IC stand for Integrated Circuit, so all microcontrollers is IC's but not all IC's is microcontrollers. There is millions of IC types with different porpoises some is microprocessors some is microcontrollers but most IC's has other functions like Oppamps, timers, logic gates, regulator ETC.

Difference between linear IC and Digital IC?

In linear IC'S the output voltage is very according to input voltage In digital IC's the output voltage is either high or low

Why bjt is called current controlled current device?

Because the operation of the transistor is determined by the current at the base. the principle equations of BJT operation are: Ic = h*Ib ,and Ie=Ib+Ic thus device operation is controlled by the input current.

What is regulator 7806?

A 7806 would be a +6VDC 3 pin linear voltage regulator. Its partner the 7906 is -6VDC but has a totally different pinout.

How gate works in IC?

The same way they work outside an IC. An integrated circuit is just a means of miniaturization, it does not change circuit operation.
