Circuit breakers do not have circuit diagrams. The breakers have an input where the distribution voltage is applied and an output where the load is applied. If you want to know what is inside a breaker, the electrical terminology to use is "shop drawings" of the specific breaker that you need information on.
A local breaker backup relay is used to check the operation of distribution circuit breakers and to trip the feeder circuit breaker if the distribution circuit breaker fails to trip on an overload.

The load side of a panel refers to the section where the circuit breakers are connected to distribute electrical power to various devices and appliances within a building. It is where the electrical load is connected after passing through the circuit breakers for distribution.
An electrical distribution centre is used to distribute circuits through out the building that it supplies. An electrical panel in your home is classified as an electrical distribution panel. The electrical distribution panels come in varying sizes and voltage ratings depending on what the building requirements are. Amperages for different loads are supplied through breakers that are part of the distribution panel.
There is no formula used to fill a distribution panel. The panel is loaded according to the circuits that are to be connected to it. After you have determining what breakers are needed always buy a distribution panel that has more slots than you need. The extra cost of buying a panel with more slots in it will pay for itself in the future if additional circuits need to be added.
Power is consumed whenever a load is connected to the distribution supply panel. The load is usually controlled by a switch, contactors for motors or breakers located in the distribution panel. Load on line power is consumed, load off line no power is consumed.
There are no breakers, only fuses in the under hood fuse box.
Breakers do not need routine maintenance. If the distribution panel is in an environment that allows dust or dirt to build up on the breaker faces, wipe the breakers with a dry cloth. If the distribution panel has a door on the panel face keep it closed.
It is not a recommended practice. The secondary side of the transformer should go to a distribution panel where breakers can be used to protect the different wire sizes and load currents.
