A 'transposed' tower is one where the vertical sequence of lines on one side of the tower is red-yellow-blue (or A-B-C), while the sequence on the other side is blue-yellow-red (or C-B-A). The effect of this is to introduce some degree of cancellation between the magnetic fields -approximately inversely proportional to the cube of the horizontal distance away from the line, thus reducing the flux density of the magnetic field on either side of the line. In other words, it offers a means of reducing the exposure to the line's electromagnetic field. In the UK, most tower lines are transposed.

Carry electrical power over extremely long distanceswith minimal I2*R losses. The higher the line voltage the lower the current the line has to carry to transmit the power from source to load.
to transfer large blocks of energy over long distance, which equal to half of electromagnetic wave length. (at 50 Hz approximately is 3000 km.)
Frequency modulation is not used for long distance transmission because it has the problem of limited band width.
Capacitors have always been added on both power lines and telephone lines to compensate for the build up of inductive reactance in long runs of wire.
In transmission line minimum 3 conductors are run in parallel. Every conductor has a flux which produce losses in other conductor which is run with parallel. So in the middle one conductor the losses is double in respect to other two conductors. At the end of the line the voltage of the middle one conductor is reduced from other conductors due to these losses. The transposition tower is used to change the conductors. By using these tower we shift each conductor position. So we use these towers in long transmission line so that these losses becomes equal for each conductor. and voltage will be almost equal at the end of the transmission line. Regards. Vishal kr. Transmission towers are usually made of steel to help support over the head power lines. They are used in high voltage AC and DC systems and can come in different shapes and sizes.
balanced pi model for a long transmission line.

There are three types of transmission lines of India given follows ---- 1-long transmission line( which is used grid to power suppliers plant ) 2-medium transmission line ( which is used power supplier plant to the industry ) 3- short transmission line ( which is used transformer to the consumers )

A rise in voltage occurring at the end of a long transmission line when its load is disconnected.
Yes. Because... If we connect an alternator to a transmission line of high capacitance the line voltage will increase and caused a line voltage difference, which does not satisfied the condition of parallel operation of same voltage rating. [By Akhtaruzzaman08]
The "cell" in cell phone is a shortened form of the word cellular. This refers to the type of transmission towers used to convey signals. Cell phones are simply radios that transmit on minute frequencies. The range of frequencies used are managed by the individual cellular providers (cell phone companies). These companies build and arrange transmission antennae (cell towers) in a way that transmission coverage from each tower overlaps those around it. This provides relatively (theoretically) seamless coverage. As long as the cell phone remains within line of sight of a transmission tower, and within the phone's transmission range, calls can be completed. In the days of analog cell phones (and this may still hold true today), the average transmission range for a cell tower was 15 miles over land, and 50 miles over water.
Microwave towers are normally set up in "Line of sight" pattern, as long as the other tower can be clearly seen from the antenna height (both), they work very well. On average they're set roughly about 30 to 40 miles apart depend upon terrain. The old AT&T towers "long line" towers were for sure.
The Tower Bridge is 801 feet long.
