Neither, but they do have somewhat different harmful effects. A few examples are:

  • DC will tend to make you hold onto the wires giving the shock until someone turns off the power, AC will tend to make you throw yourself away from the wires giving you the shock (this may cause serious physical injuries as you fall on other objects)
  • DC will tend to flow through the core tissues of the body making it more likely to reach the heart, AC will tend to flow through the outer tissues making it more likely to cause visible burns
  • etc.

Note: these are all tendencies not absolutes, there are obviously exceptions. Also equivalent harmful effects occur at much lower AC RMS current levels than DC current levels, which may give the impression that AC is more harmful than DC.

How did Edison try to prove that ac was dangerous?

Edison tried to prove that alternating current (AC) was dangerous by publicly electrocuting animals with AC currents. He held demonstrations where he electrocuted animals, such as cats and dogs, to show that AC current was more lethal than his preferred direct current (DC). This was part of his campaign to discredit AC and promote DC as the safer option for electrical distribution.

Why ac current is more dangerous than dc?

no actually dc current is more dangerous than ac because dc is a direct current and has no current zero condition ,which is very dangerous and do not leave us if we get shock while ac current leave us when we get shock

Which is more useful ac or dc current?

both. it depends on the application.

Does a fan run on a dc current or ac current?

AC

How can you block ac current?

You can block AC current by using a filter with a pass-band that is outside the frequency of the AC current.

Which is more dangerous AC current or DC current when the voltages are equal?

either one, neither one

What device converts dc current to ac current?

A "Rectifier" converts AC current to pulsating DC current.

Which type of current, AC or DC, is more dangerous in terms of electrical safety?

AC current is generally considered more dangerous in terms of electrical safety compared to DC current. This is because AC current can cause muscles to contract involuntarily, making it harder to let go of a live wire, while DC current typically causes a single muscle contraction.

Why electronics device used dc current only?

DC direct current is be coming more popular than AC alternating current AC is not really suitable for some devices maybe your device is needing low current

Did ceiling fan operate on dc or ac current?

ac current

What current is produced in ocean thermal energy conversion dc current or ac current?

ac

Why is it incorrect to say AC current?

ac stands for alternating current so ac current means alterneting current current. its like entering your pin number on an ATM machine.
