Oh my god you don't even know, Albert Einstein is my hero (he invented the static theory if you didn't know). Basically it is a theory produced by Einstein that the universe has always existed. This theory is the arch rival of the Big Bang theory. Anyways, according to theory, our universe is on a fabric of space and time infinitely expanding with the universe. Now if you have a lot of fabric on a sheet and you place a Bowling ball on it what happens? The fabric bends because of the ball. Now if you place a planet on the fabric of space and time it essentially does the same thing. Then place some marbles on the fabric and where do they go? They are attracted to the bowling ball. That is the basis of gravity. This leads to other stuff too. Let's say that you place a 4 ton ball on the fabric. It rips the fabric at a certain point. Now this 4 tonball is representing the mass density of a black hole. Again, according to theory, there are parallel universes with confrugrent properties to ours.I know, it's crazy, but think about this what if you had many sheets of fabric and dropped the 4 ton ball. Eventually it would stop at a later fabric. Apply this to the space time fabric, wouldn't the black hole be a technical portal to another universe? I might of wandered off while typing this, but you got the basics right?

Do static methods operate on objects why?

No. Why? By definition. A static method is, precisely, a method that is not meant to operate on an object. It can only work with static fields, and other static methods, of its class.

Are the methods or members of static class static?

A static class may or may not have static members. Adding the static keyword to the class definition won't change this. Note that an inner class which is not static may not contain static members (unless those members are also declared final).
