Chimanda Ngozi Adichie's novel, Purple Hibiscus, outlines the difficulties that Nigeria faced after colonialism in the British Empire. It shows the readers how Dictatorship throughout the country changed people's views on colonialism and how people were affected. Adichie writes through the eyes of a young girl named Kambili, aged 15, and how her life is affected by colonialism. She uses a family unit to represent Nigeria's political situation through the eyes of Kambili. Adichie shows how the family has been torn apart by different views and beliefs and how it affects the population represented as Kambili. Her father, Papa Eugene, represents the dictatorship of Nigeria which is the appointed government. Papa follows the colonialist way and refuses to accept any part of his heritage and culture. The novel itself has many themes which include: Family, Tolerance, Conflict etc and the main theme being Religion.

What does the hibiscus mean in the purple hibiscus?

== == * Some tattooing is done because the individual likes the design and during the war years sailors would often get tattoos, but there is no significant meaning regarding the hibiscus. Some men/women will put their lovers name on their ankle, back or arm. Many gang members have their signature put on them. We have an Asian gang in Vancouver called the "Red Dragons" so guess what the tattoo is going to be. For some people there may be a personal reason for a tattoo. Today tattooing is a fine art form. * I looked this up and a hibiscus means: DELICATE BEAUTY. As a tattoo artist I can testify that tattoos can have deep meaning. I've done portraits of children taken by disease, yellow ribbons on cancer survivors, portraits of dead heroes, even one to mark the accomplishment of running a marathon, the list goes on, I book about three months in advance, so generally the clients that I tattoo have a deeper meaning for getting the art, that's why they are willing to wait for it. There are also traditional meanings to many tattoos in many cultures. In American traditional tattooing sailors would tattoo "hold fast" across their knuckles in hopes of better grip. Even the tattoo of the skull has a meaning, as a death ward. The idea is that when death comes to take you he sees the skull and passes you by believing that you're already dead. The meanings of tattoos are so numerous that it's too time consuming for me to list here.

What kind of tea is hibiscus tea and what is it good for?

Hibiscus tea, also called roselle tea, is an herbal tea made from the hibiscus sabdariffa (or roselle) plant. It has a deep reddish purple color and a tangy flavor. Hibiscus is a common ingredient in herbal teas, where it imparts both a purple color and a tangy quality. Besides being widely used as a beverage (especially in the middle-east, where it is native, and in Central America, where it grows well), hibiscus tea is used for medicinal purposes. It is particularly effective for treating hypertension (high blood pressure). Hibiscus has been shown in controlled clinical trials to be effective for lowering blood pressure, is as effective as at least one prescription drug, and is much safer than any known prescription drugs on the market. It also has other traditional uses, such as to lower fever.
