Its a true story about Sgt. John Wilson, who comes to Canada from Scotland and joins the police force. After a while, he finally sends for his wife, Polly who is back in Scotland with their kids. He sends her a letter telling her to board a train and meet him in Regina. While his wife is packing everything up and heading to Canada to meet her husband, Sgt. John Wilson falls in love with a young lady from Blaine Lake, Jessie Patterson. Soon after, he plans to marry her, all of his secretive history catches up with him. Trying to hide his past, he kills his wife, Polly and burns the car. Two days later, he marries Jessie Patterson, and they move away.
He does no send for Polly. John got sick so Jesse cares for him then he falls in love with her. Polly wants to see if her husband is still alive. John had no knowledge of Polly going to Canada
