That the main conflict has been resolved.
how the problem ends, who wins, how its solvedThe finishing of any unknowns.how the problem was solvedis what happens at the end of the story it occurs after the climax it is what happens to the characters after the conflict is resolved
Plot is a complex term that involves a conflict at its core. Something that disturbs the harmony of the characters or the universe or something. It is this conflict that is resolved. And as the conflict gets resolved so to does the plot. For example the protagonist is in danger of being stabbed to death by the antagonist. This is a conflict. This conflict plus all the action that takes place because of that conflict is the plot. When the protagonist convinces the antagonist that he truly loves her and everything that she heard about him to the contrary were lies and hyperbola and she drops the knife and falls lovingly into his arms - this is the resolution to the conflict and thereby the end of the plot as anything that happens after that is only gratuitous sensuality.
The ending of a short story is called the resolution or denouement (which is unfortunately pronounced 'day-new-moe'not 'duh-now-ment'). It's a French word.

The tense moment towards the end of a story is known as the climax. It is the point of highest intensity and conflict where the outcome of the story is often decided.

The resolution of a conflict can often be seen when characters come to a realization or understanding, when their goal is achieved, or when peace is restored among the characters. Look for moments in the story where tensions ease, misunderstandings are clarified, or characters show signs of growth or change in response to the conflict.
