Noah Webster was the first person to write and publish an American English dictionary "An American Dictionary of the English Language" in 1828. he was a schoolteacher and wanted to simp[lify the language by removing 'useless' letters from words such as coloUr, freiGHt, and of course the big change, changing the -ise ending for -ize.
Local differences also had a huge influence on the language, words coming from Native American(is thsat politically correct ? ) words, Yiddish words and phrases play a major part.
The specific creator of the English language was no one. English was created from generation to generation speaking many European languages which, for those living in English territories, evolve in the English language. Much of the language descends from Latin and Germanic languages, with words from many other languages add in over time.
