A tack coat is necessary to create a strong bond between layers of asphalt in pavement construction or maintenance. It ensures proper adhesion, preventing delamination and extending the lifespan of the pavement. By providing a thin, sticky layer, it helps to improve the overall structural integrity and performance of the asphalt layers, leading to better durability and reduced maintenance costs.
The weight of 1 gallon of tack coat material can vary depending on the specific product and its density. However, on average, 1 gallon of tack coat material can weigh around 8 to 9 pounds.

There are no curing time requirement for prime coat. You can asphalt rigth away after your prime as long as the prime have the proper temperature. There are curing time for TACK COAT which is different. (TACK IS OVER ASPHALT,PRIME IS OVER BASE ROCK ).Is a common mistake confuse those two different operations. The curing time for TACK depend of the weather and varie between 8 hrs to 24 hrs. Gustavo Cuenca Civil Engineer.
There is a substantial amount of misinformation concerning the function and proper use of prime. Prime is not glue-causing the base to adhere to the pavement is not its purpose. Prime's purpose is to protect the base from rain and light traffic, when the paving will be delayed.A prime coat is an application of an asphalt cutback or emulsified asphalt to a prepared base. The base can be either a sub grade or a base rock. Prime functions as a protector from rain for both types of bases. A primecoat should not be confused with a tack coat. Tack is an a adhesive for gluing two asphalt layers together.

sure, it is called bace coat/clear coat system and they have been doing it since 1986 ish. Spray your bace till covered let it dry tack cloth the finish then spray your clear, follow directions on can I think the question is whether or not to mix the base coat WITH the clear before applying. It will defeat the purpose of the clear coat as a UV protectant to the base coat. You can do it but I certainly would not recommend it.
In order to screw a coat hook to the wall you need a drill. Additional metal plates may be necessary to keep the coat hook to the wall.
