Just don't do it yourself. Really please don't attempt it yourself unless you have Skoda / Volkswagen / Audi technical experience, expertise and facilities. (including installation tools, jigs and gauges) It's complicated and difficult without proper knowledge, experience and manufactures / main dealer back up you could easily do it wrong and quickly wreck your engine, with no redress.
I am an experienced vehicle technician and would not attempt it without all the above support behind me.
The recommended cam belt change interval for a Skoda Octavia TDI typically falls between 60,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on the specific engine model and year. It's important to consult the owner's manual or a certified Skoda dealership for the precise interval for your particular vehicle. Regular maintenance is crucial to prevent engine damage due to belt failure. Additionally, replacing the water pump and tensioners during the cam belt change is often advised.

The cam belt drives the cam, keeping it in time. If the cam belt breaks, the engine not only will not run, but could be damaged. Make sure to change the belt at the recommended intervals.
