u cud buy my 309 diesel 4 150 and swap my engine into yours
I had the same problem on a Peugeot 405 Turbo Diesel. The problem turned out to be the water-in-diesel sensor itself - so I have ignored it for the last 5 years! It is probably the water-in-diesel sensor which is at fault. I have had the same problem for over 5 years on a 405 turbo diesel - so I have ignored it.
To replace glow plugs on a Peugeot 405 turbo diesel, remove the connecting wire. Take off the 8 mm nut, followed by the 10 mm deep socket. Remove the old plugs and replace with new.
There's no such thing as a speed sensor. Do you mean the rev. counter or speedo sensor by any chance?
To change the clutch in a Peugeot 405 MI16, first, disconnect the battery and remove the transmission by unbolting it from the engine. Support the engine and detach the driveshafts, then take out the clutch cover and disc. Replace the old clutch components with new ones, ensuring proper alignment, and reassemble the transmission and driveshafts. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the clutch operation before taking the vehicle for a drive.
The air conditioning drain pipe on a Peugeot 405 Turbo Diesel Estate is typically located underneath the vehicle, towards the passenger side. It extends from the evaporator unit inside the cabin and allows condensation to drain outside. To locate it, you may need to look under the dashboard near the firewall and trace the pipe down to where it exits the vehicle. Regular maintenance ensures that the drain is clear and functioning properly.
The Haynes manual I have doesn't mention any need to re check. As the bolts are "angle tightened" I would have thought it unlikely that they would require a check.

Remove the intercooler, remove the wires, take out with 12mm ring spanner. A deep socket can be used on the two centre plugs but the end ones require a ring spanner. One of the modern ratchet type rings will be useful after the first 1/4 turn to loosen. Not as difficult as many people believe.
Took me a while to find it! It's located right next to the pollen filter, under the bonnet, its one of the two green relays present there, one if for the headlights and the other is for the 'driving lights' (not the full beam lights).
There is none, the engine is a mechanical injection diesel which means it has a rotary injector pump controlling the injection times and quantities rather than a computer doing it
this sounds alot like a turbo failure, although there could well be a leak in the pipes leading from the turbo to the intercooler, or from the intercooler to the inlet manifold. also check the intercooler for leaks. or it is the vacuum pipe that operates the waste gate on the turbo, or a seized waste gate.
