There is a triangular plastic plate on the inside of the car door that covers up the mounting screws for the mirror. You need to get the plate off first. I did this on my '92 passenger side and was unable to get the plate off without breaking it). Once the plate is off there are 3 screws that hold the mirror to the door. Take them out, change mirror, put them back in.
