The top bolt on your starter is also one of the 4 bolts that holds your engine in. The nut (17 mm) is located behind the cooling shroud, it"s not easy to get to so a box ratchet wrench is needed. You'll notice the head of the bolt at the starter is round with a flat spot to keep it from turning while your working on the other end. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST.
4 x 130mm.
two wires and two bolts...one is also a engine bolt easy in easy out
bolt pattern is a broad term, so I'll assume you're talking about wheels, in that case 4x130mm
The Volkswagan Beetle had a 5 bolt wheel pattern since 1938.
you start by taking out the 2 bolts the hold the starter in,, then disconnect the wires and replace starter..er i mean disconnect wires first or one bolt then one wire then the other bold AND OTHER WIRE
Disconnect the battery. unhook the wires from the starter, then unbolt the unit. Drop the starter and bolt the new one in. Reconnect the wiring and battery.
There is. The starter's on the right-hand side of the car. Look between the firewall and the fan shroud on that side, and you'll see a 17mm nut. That's the top nut holding the starter in, and you might need to clamp a pair of vise-grips to the head of the bolt to get the nut off. It is in possibly THE hardest place in the world to maneuver a pair of vise-grips into.
There are 2 bolts that hold it to the rear of the engine.
5X100
are there 2 bolt ot 3 bolt on a starter on 1998 neon
The easiest way to get to the top starter bolt is with 12" extension and a 13 mil socket. You have to feel your way between the solenoid and the block. You can only take the starter off from the top if the engine is on a engine stand
1. Disconnect the battery 2. Find starter and take wires off. Note where they are connected. 3. unbolt starter. Careful, it is heavy! 4. Bolt on new starter 5. hook up wires 6. hook up battery. 7. start and drive back to autoparts store to return "core" and get the refund. Have fun, it is not a super difficult task.
