Turn the black reservoir lid counter clockwise and lift it out. It can be very tight sometimes and if you have to do it when the engine is hot, cover it with a towel or something, as steam will come shooting out as soon as you release the pressure and you WILL get burned.

When do you add coolant with the car started or not?

You should add coolant with the engine off and cool, top off the radiator and fill the coolant reservoir to the cool or cold level. When the system is hot or running it will be pressurized and will be dangerous to open. You can however add coolant to the overflow reservoir at any time.

How do you put in antifreeze in a 1992 Toyota Previa after flushing out the system?

Open the hood and the Coolant reservoir on the '92 Previa is next to oil reservoir on the left side. Unscrew radiator cap from the coolant reservoir, add the 50/50 mix of coolant fluid into the reservoir. (Recommend use Prestone extended life coolant) Fill the coolant into the reservoir, it take about 3 gallon, and be sure that the coolant is pass the full mark of the reservoir. Now, turn on the car, during the engine running (about 10 minutes) kept check the level of coolant be sure it still maintains pass the full mark level. Screw back the radiator cap to coolant reservoir. Run engine for another 30 minute. This will ensure that thermostat is open and and ensure the fluid is circular all around of the radiator and hoses. Waite engine cool down, then open the radiator cap and check the coolant fluid level. If the level is low then add more coolant. Do not fill the coolant pass the full Mark's point. If the coolant fluid is still the same as in full mark then it is good. Continue to check the coolant fluid for next couple day. Besure that it is at the full level mark.

Where do you put the coolant in a Toyota 2000 echo?

To add coolant to a 2000 Toyota Echo, open the hood and locate the coolant reservoir, which is typically a translucent plastic tank near the radiator. Ensure the engine is cool, then remove the cap from the reservoir and add the appropriate coolant mixture, usually a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. Always check the fill level markings on the side of the reservoir to avoid overfilling, and secure the cap tightly after adding the coolant.

How do you check the coolant in Civic?

To check the coolant in a Honda Civic, first ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns. Open the hood and locate the coolant reservoir, usually marked with a "coolant" label. Check the fluid level against the markings on the side of the reservoir; it should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" lines. If the level is low, add the appropriate coolant mixture as specified in your owner's manual.

How do you bleed the antifreeze valve on a 2001 Chrysler Sebring?

After you have completed work on the cooling system and you begin to replace the coolant, open the bleeder a couple turns. As you pour coolant into the reservoir air trapped will escape out the bleeder. As soon as you see coolant come out of the bleeder close the bleeder valve and continue to add coolant to the reservoir until you have reached the full mark. Replace cap on reservoir. Allow vehicle to run through a drive cycle and cool down. Top off reservoir to full mark if necessary.

How do you change coolant on 1997 Achieva?

If you want to simply remove the existing coolant and replace it with new, the procedure is very simple. If the cooling system needs to be flushed, do that first and then follow these steps to change coolant. 1. Uncap the coolant reservoir. Open lower drain plug. It is located on the lower edge of the radiator on the driver's side of the vehicle. Turn the plug several times to open the plug fully. It is made of plastic, so be careful when using any tools to turn it. 2. After the coolant has completely drained, close the drain plug. 3. Pour 50/50 water/coolant mix into the coolant reservoir. It will take a while for the reservoir to empty into the engine cooling system. 4. After adding approximately one gallon, start the engine. This will pull more coolant into the system. 5. Continue adding coolant until the level reaches and remains at the "full" level. 6. Cap the coolant reservoir.
