I had the light go out on my 98 escort. I had to take the entire console out. There is a screw underneath a cap next to the gear shifter. Remove the 2 screws on the back on the console near the back of the front seats. also remove 2 screws from the front bottom of on the console, one on each side. The console will lift up. You should be able to get to the bulb. Hope this helps. Joey

There are screws going through the bottom into the floor, should be about 6 in the front, middle, and back of the inside of the console.
If I remember correctly, you really can't, it's part of the console so the whole console has to be changed.
You might have an issue with the 4wd shifter location, and the 93 has a foot brake instead of a hand brake, but it will probably go.
