You can reset the check engine light, on your 1998 Land Rover, by repairing what ever is causing the light to stay on. You can determine the cause by using a diagnostic tester.
hoe do you reset the check engine light in a 1995 land rover
If your 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II engine turns over but won't start, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a lack of fuel reaching the engine, a faulty ignition system, or issues with the air intake. Check for fuel pump operation, inspect the spark plugs and ignition coils, and ensure that the air filter is clean. Additionally, consider checking for any diagnostic trouble codes that might indicate specific problems.
Check your car manual.
To check the transmission fluid level on a 2001 Land Rover Discovery, start with the vehicle on a level surface and the engine running. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually found near the rear of the engine bay, and remove it to wipe it clean. Reinsert the dipstick fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level, which should be between the "hot" marks if the engine is warm. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
On a 2003 Land Rover Discovery, the O2 sensor fuse is located in the engine compartment fuse box. Specifically, you should check the fuse labeled "ECU" or "Engine Control Module," as it typically protects the oxygen sensor circuit. Always refer to the owner's manual for the exact fuse diagram to ensure accuracy.
The red light is for the water temp in the engine. get a mechanic to check the thermostat for u it might need replaced
If a 1993 Land Rover Discovery is stuck in a low ratio gear, check the transmission fluid levels. If the fluid levels check out okay, the transmission may be experiencing a jammed gear.
the fuel pump might be week get a fuel pressure tester and check it out
no fuses used on cruise control, done on vacuum pipes, check for leaks
Have the engine scanned for codes. It sounds like a PO300 code. That will be a random cylinder misfire. Cylinder Misfire is nonsense...I have the same problem and the Discovery II workshop manual states that it's a THROTTLE POSTION SENSOR problem that causes the "Check Engine" light to come on and the engine to go into idle. (Hence the inability to accelerate.) Either the sensor is loose or grounded.
The oil pan drain plug washer for a 2003 Land Rover Discovery typically has a size of 14mm in diameter. It is often an aluminum washer, which helps to create a proper seal and prevent leaks when the drain plug is tightened. Always check the specific model and engine type, as variations may exist.
Check the loose nut behind the steering wheel! Big issue with some Land Rover owners :)
