To change the water pump on a 2000 Kia Sephia, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and drain the coolant from the radiator. Remove the serpentine belt, then take off the timing belt or any components obstructing access to the water pump. Unscrew the water pump from the engine block, clean the mating surface, and install the new pump with a new gasket. Reassemble in reverse order, refill the coolant, and check for leaks.
