The core of the engine is not the same, the 1.8t is a I4 DOHC 20V whereas the 2.0 is an I4 SOHC 8V. You can't just throw on a 1.8 turbo on a 2.0 and call it a day, so whoever put that it is the same is the fool... Not the person asking. Please do me a favor, before you idiots try to answer questions like this make sure you guys know what you're talking about, you're only gonna make bigger fools of yourselves tha you already are, so quit pretending, this isn't like one of your little '86 Honda low riders in south central or east Los Angeles with air ride and gold Daytons, So no the engine of a GTI is not the same, you can't just do a straight bolt on oem turbo... That's also why they make two different kinds of aftermarket turbo kits, one for the 1.8 and one for the 2.0, also there are slight variations in the years of the 1999-2001 Golf and the 2001-2005 engines, you can probably find this info on the forums or even wiki should have it,
yea
yes they will
You need to modify the mk4 steering wheel to fit. Get the 3.5 cabrio wheel. It looks similar and no mods required
The Golf GTI MK4 was presented to an audience in October 1997. This also depends on which country one was in as there are different names given to this model in China and Canada.
there is no t and its not 150hp its 125bhp it depends on which engine the gti has. the 2.0l 8v has 115bhp and the 1.8turbo has 150bhp (180bhp anniversary editions) :)
