It shold show a diagram in the owners manual. (Our 9000 Saabs show the layout.) Don't have a manual? Get one!
The serpentine belt on a Saab 9-5 4 cylinder is replaced by loosening the idler pulley and slipping the belt off. It can then be removed from the remaining engine accessories and a new belt put in place.
In the '99 9-5, I did, you have to remove the motor mount on top, then jack up the motor to make it more accessible. The rest is like any other belt job.

To replace the serpentine belt on a 2001 Saab 9-5 V6, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the engine cover if applicable, then locate the tensioner pulley and use a wrench to relieve tension on the belt. Take off the old belt, noting the routing path, and then install the new belt in the same configuration. Finally, release the tensioner to secure the new belt and double-check its alignment before reassembling any components.
1. Make sure that when you purchase a new belt, they don't try to sell you the full size serpentine belt. 2. There is a diagram of the belt routing on your truck when you lift the hood. Follow that. 3. Unfortunately, you need to remove the serpentine belt to replace the air conditioning belt.... the belt routing for the serpentine belt is also shown on the diagram. 4. To remove the serpentine belt, get a ratchet set, and crank the "self tensioning" assembly to release tension on the serpentine belt, and remove the belt. 5. There is another "self tensioning" assembly for the air conditioning belt. Crank to place the new AC belt on and release. 6. Re-install the serpentine belt. This is an easy fix... it took me less than 20 minutes, I'm not a mechanic.
How do you route the serpentine belt for a 1998 w
Looking at the engine from the passenger side fender the serpentine belt revolves around 5 different pulleys. Theres only 1 belt ,,,,the serpentine.
you have to release the tension on the belt via the tensioner it should be a 9/16 or 5/8 and then just pull the belt off and replace note draw a diagram of the belt arrangement
No timing belt has a chain.Does not need replacing
the 1997 camaro doe's not have a fan belt it has a serpentine belt that you can change in about 5 min.
1995 2.2L Chevy Berreta/Corsica Serpentine belt replacement procedure without a diagram. If it is a 2.2L (I have a 95 Berretta and the procedure is identical, as a matter of fact my user guides title is "1995 Corsica/Berreta", read below: There was no belt routing diagram in the manual or under the hood so if the belt is still on make a quick but accurate sketch, this will save valuable time when it is time to replace the belt. The auto-tensioner is located about 5-6 inches from the altenator, down and to the left if standing on the passenger side of the vehicle looking into the engine bay. I used a 9/16 closed end wrech to loosen the tension on the belt. Pull up to loosen. Push down to tighten (right to tighten, left to loosen) Removed the serpentine belt and replaced w/ the new one. Route the belt exactly as in your sketch/diagram placing the belt onto the tensioner last. Tighten the auto tensioner bolt. Good luck... .
Feed belt around all pulleys as owners manual shows, take 6or8 inch 1/2 socket extension bar and place in tensioner top.Pull towards front of engine, you will see pully move, slip belt on making sure belt is on all pulleys and line up in grooves.Release extension bar towards back of motor and belt should be tight.
