For a 2000 BMW Z3, it's generally recommended to change the oil every 7,500 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. However, if you drive in severe conditions, such as frequent short trips, extreme temperatures, or heavy traffic, more frequent changes may be beneficial. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidance tailored to your vehicle's needs.
The chain will last the life of the engine and there is no recommended change interval.

To reset the oil life monitor in a 2000 BMW Z3, turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal fully three times within five seconds. After doing this, the oil life monitor should reset to 100%. Finally, turn the ignition off and then back on to confirm that the reset was successful.

You need to purchase a reset tool. You can order one from Bavarian Autosport.
