map sensor or a bad vacum leak
The MAP sensor in a 1986 2.9 liter engine is a manifold absolute pressure sensor that measures the pressure inside the intake manifold. This information is used by the engine control module to calculate air/fuel mixture and ignition timing for optimal engine performance.
MAP Sensor is under hood, passenger side, upper firewall, mounted in control box.
it depends on the model of engine, my 97 rodeo with the 4ze1 motor has the map sensor for air intake but doesnt have an O2 sensor for the exhaust.
Its on the logic module (near the bottom) behind the passenger side kick panel.
It uses a MAP sensor. It uses a MAP sensor.
It does not have one, only fuel injected engines have one.
I know on the 89 CRX HF the MAP sensor is located on the firewall. Look for the 3 pin. Should have a white wire, green/white(-), and yellow/red(+)
a map sensor is a manifold absolute pressure sensor.
if it has a 3.3 there is no map sensor
That year did not have a MAP sensor.
