To remove the air box on a 2000 VW Polo 1.4, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Then, unclip or unscrew any retaining clips or screws securing the air box to the engine bay. Disconnect the intake duct from the air box and any electrical connectors, if present. Finally, gently lift the air box out of its housing, ensuring not to damage any surrounding components.

on the drivers side of the radiator, its a cylinder tube that has a flap that you pull open to remove and replace the filter. for some reason its not in the expected place of the engine compartment. To access it either ramps or secure jack.
