Not 100% sure but I think its the relay on top of the fuse box right over the pedals on the RHD models - for Mazda 323 diesel.

I replaced this on my 92 protoge and it is behind the radio
The flasher unit for a 2000 Mazda Protégé is located under the dash. It is located just to the left of the steering wheel and very easily accessible.
The flasher unit on a Mazda 323 is located on the end of the flasher lever. Remove the lower steering column to bring the unit to view.
where is the flasher unit on the sp20
The 1992 Chevrolet Camaro turn signal flasher unit can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher unit will be above the gas pedal.
6.5inches. Most modern speakers won't match up perfectly on the holes. I've owned a 1993 Mazda protege and a 1991 Mazda protege, I've changed the head unit, speakers and added an amp and sub to both, so I know =p
The flasher unit on a 1992 Nissan Sentra is located under the dash, near the hood release. It sends an intermittent signal to the turn lamps to trigger the familiar flashing.
Conrad up north: I've got a '99 Protege and had to change the flasher unit last week. It is located up under the dash on the drivers side. It is about mid way between the clutch pedal (or where it would be if yours is an automatic), and the interior fuse panel. The OEM flasher unit has a white plastic case, aftermarket cases are usually black. It has a plug-on base with 3 wires. Once you've found it, just grab the base and wiggle it while pulling it toward you until it comes off. The flasher unit's case has a slot in the end which hooks over its chassis mounting bracket and lifts off vertically. (This unit also operates the hazard flashers.) You can buy an OEM replacement for about $40, or a generic 3 pin universal aftermarket equal (minus the mounting slot) for about $15. NOTE: The Mazda dealer's database document in my case was WRONG. Although the Part No. was right, it showed the flasher unit located in the engine compartment fuse panel assembly --- NOT TRUE !
In the driver's compartment on the left side above and slightly forward of the fuse box. It's the unit with a three wire connector. WRONG! Its a 8 wire connector relay box.Thats from the schematic diagram in Mazdas wiring manual. The 3 wire is a relay for the emergency flasher relay. I don't know where it is.
The only fuel filter on the 1999 Protege is a "sock" on the fuel pump pickup tube inside the gas tank. The sock can't be replaced seperately from Mazda, you have to replace the fuel pump which does not include the sending unit.
It's a plug in module in fuse box in cabin-owner's manual will show location.
The combination flasher unit is located behind the upper lefthand side of instrument panel.
it the bulb or socket not flasher unit
