In a Renault Clio, the flasher unit relay is typically located in the fuse box. Depending on the model year, this fuse box can usually be found under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. You may need to consult the owner's manual for the exact location and diagram to identify the specific relay. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off before inspecting the fuse box.

I've been told by a Renault machanic that this problem is caused by a control unit behind the interior fuse box known among Renault people as an UC bic. This must be done by a Renault garage as the unit is coded. However a friend of mine took out the battery and cleaned the fuses and surrounds which were in behind and all electrics worked again!
On a Renault Clio from the 52 plate year (2002), the indicator flasher unit is typically located behind the dashboard, near the steering column. You may need to remove the lower steering column cover to access it. The flasher unit is usually a small, cylindrical relay that can be identified by its electrical connections. If you're having trouble locating it, consulting the vehicle's manual can provide specific guidance.

Additionally, the transponder chip in the key communicates with the immobilizer system to prevent unauthorized starting of the vehicle. For specific details, consulting the vehicle's service manual or a professional mechanic is recommended.
The indicator relay is under the glove box, passenger side, behind the fuse box.
