On a 1996 Saab SE Turbo 2.0, the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is located in the intake duct between the air filter and the throttle body. It's typically mounted on the air intake hose, which connects to the turbocharger. To access it, you may need to remove the air intake assembly or other components in the surrounding area.
On a 1996 Saab 900 SE Turbo, the O2 sensor is typically located on the exhaust manifold, before the catalytic converter. There may also be a second O2 sensor located after the catalytic converter. To access the sensor, you may need to raise the vehicle and remove any heat shields if they are present. Always ensure the engine is cool before attempting to work on the exhaust system.
The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle housing on the left-hand end of the inlet manifold.
The NG900 SAAB 900 Turbo SEs (1994-1998) Did not have MAF sensors. It has a MAP sensor which is mounted on the engine crossmember. It cannot be cleaned, only replaced. You may see MAF's online for them but you will quickly find there is no where under that hood to put it. It normally is clamped between the air tube to the air filter box and the air filter box. This information was verified by a call to a local SAAB dealer part tech.
Well, on my 1995 SAAB 90SE Turbo Convertible, it was on the floor right in front of the two front seats. In fact, that's where the key has gone in every SAAB I've ridden in, but I admit most of the ones I've been in were from 60s or 80s...maybe they broke with tradition later on.
Yes, Saab did make a 900 SE turbo. Is there a question? ~ Odd looking cars really.
If it has one it will be located directly above the center of the fuel tank. It may very well not have one, which in that case you will have to remove the fuel tank to replace the pump.
A snowflake symbol on a Saab denotes the air conditioner.
