It is located at the bottom drivers side of the radiator. It is a round sensor with large hex head that screws into the radiator. Follow the wires from the cooling fans to the sensor.
The 1990 Honda Accord thermo fan relay switches can be found in the fuse box. The Thermo fan relay switch is will be at the bottom of the third column.
To remove and replace a thermo fan switch, first disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety. Locate the thermo fan switch, typically found on the engine or radiator; then, unplug the electrical connector and use a wrench to unscrew the switch. Install the new switch by screwing it into place, reconnecting the electrical connector, and finally reconnecting the battery. Before finishing, check for leaks and ensure the fan operates correctly.
i am currently having a over heating problem with my vw golf mk1 - my new thermo switch is not getting the fan to come on ( works when i short it at the switch connector) - probly a radiator block usually when a thermo switch is not functioning - i will not allow the fan to kick in it either works or it dosent
This is caused by one of two things, if the fan is controlled by the thermo switch even when the car is off, then either the thermo switch or the relay is stuck on. If the fan never runs when the car is off, then it's a stuck or shorted relay.
In the relay box under the hood.
If it is anything like the 2000, then as you look at the engine from the front, it is on the right side of the engine near the top. There is no other switch above it and it is a simple clip that slides to the side and allows the switch to be pulled out. I changed mine and the gauge in the cockpit worked and the fans came on. Good luck.
A thermoswitch is the device by the radiator, that switches on the fan as soon as the engine/ radiator reaches a set temperature
its the electric fan thermo switch
it depends upon the application; a more advanced model may have a thermo-switch.
hi,remove the wires from the thermo switch that tells the fan when to work and bridge them together, fan shoul work with ign on,if not faulty.
Idk. I replaced the thermal sensor on mine I also have a 98 jetta didn't work. So it's either the fan switch or the control module fan relay.
P2181 is a overheating engine. Can be: Bad fan themoswitch, temp sensor themostat water pump impeller fan motor or fuse on battery check to see if fans work by turning on Air Conditioner (fans should run with A/C on). Turn A/C off, warm engine, check to see if fans come on, if they do NOT it may be thermo switch on radiator on lower left side, has 3 wire plug, takes 1-1/8" wrench/socket to remove. This thermo switch controls fans when temp reaches 195F, if fans do not come on at engine temp 190-195F try replace switch VW part number: 1J0-959--481-A You can verify if the switch is bad by shorting wire 1 and 2 (fans should come on when jumpered).
